projects/Bike seat cover

In Waterloo, it rains. A lot. And it's quite unpleasant biking while sitting on a bike seat that's been out in the rain. It's even more unpleasant when it's freezing rain, which covers the seat with a layer of ice. The solution: a nylon seat cover that can be put on and removed quickly, so the seat won't be rained on. You can buy seat covers, but they tend to be of the gel-filled variety, so it's kind of stupid to use one of those just to protect the seat from rain.

This was my first real sewing project. I had done smaller things, such as repairing pants pockets, and making Velcro™ cable ties, but this was the first big one.
